Let’s face it, everyone’s glued to their screens these days. I’ve noticed so many of our local shops and restaurants struggling to get the word out. Imagine helping them create eye-catching videos that show off what makes them special.
Just last week, I saw a stunning video showcasing the Bloedel Reserve – it made me want to visit right away! There’s so much potential to highlight our gorgeous county through video.
Podcasting
I’m a podcast junkie, and I keep thinking, “Why isn’t there a podcast about Kitsap’s hidden gems?” or “I’d love to hear stories from our local business owners.” It’s such an easy way to connect with people. Plus, with all the ferry commuters we have, there’s a captive audience just waiting for some local content to make their journeys more interesting.
Digital Marketing Services
I can’t tell you how many times I’ve heard local business owners say they feel lost when it comes to online marketing. We have so many amazing small businesses here that could really benefit from some expert help with their websites, social media, and online ads. It’s all about helping them stand out in the digital world.
Event Planning
Have you been to the Kitsap Wine Festival or the Blackberry Festival? These events are the heartbeat of our community! I keep thinking there’s room for even more cool gatherings that bring us together and show off what makes Kitsap special. Plus, with all the wedding venues we have here, a local event planner could really clean up!

Okay, this one’s my personal favorite. Imagine getting a box every month filled with goodies from around Kitsap – maybe some Sailor Jerry’s beef jerky, a candle from Ollie & Co., some Bremerton Vinyl Co. records… I’d sign up in a heartbeat, and I bet tourists would love it as a way to get a taste of Kitsap at home.
Custom Illustrations
We have so many talented artists here, and I’ve seen some incredible custom work in local shops and cafes. From quirky maps of Bainbridge Island to beautiful menus at places like Nightshade in Bremerton, there’s a real appetite for unique, local art.
Catering and Food Services
With all the amazing produce from our farmers markets and the seafood from our waters, a catering service that really showcases local flavors could be huge. I’m thinking farm-to-table style events, maybe even partnering with some of our local breweries or wineries.
App Development
I keep dreaming about an app that would make it easier to know what’s happening around the county, or maybe one that helps people explore our parks and trails. There’s so much tech talent here – why not use it to make life in Kitsap even better?
Online Courses and Coaching
We’ve got experts in everything from sustainable farming to naval history right here in Kitsap. Sharing that knowledge online could be a great business and a way to put Kitsap on the map as a hub of learning.
Handmade Crafts and Goods
Every time I go to the Poulsbo Farmers Market or the Bainbridge Island Studio Tour, I’m blown away by the craftsmanship we have here. There’s definitely a market for unique, locally-made goods, both here and beyond.
